Michael Sconzo

Michael Sconzo - Line Cook in Queensbury, New York

A graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he studied history, Michael Sconzo serves as a line cook at Downtown City Tavern in Glens Falls, New York. Previously, Michael Sconzo served in the same position at Hamlet and Ghost in Saratoga Springs, New York.

As a guest blogger at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, Michael Sconzo researched library source materials and wrote a three-part blog series on railroads' relationship to Thoreau and Whitman's poetry, while gaining familiarity with library resources and assisting visitors as needed. He also worked as a diver/tender for Pneuwater Marine in Lake George, New York, where he performed underwater maintenance and removal of invasive Eurasian watermilfoil from the lake floor and assisted fellow scuba divers upon surfacing.

Academically, Michael Sconzo earned a place on the Dean's List in Fall 2018 and induction into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Outside of academics and his career, he played the role of Beleaguered Geek in the University of Virginia's Spectrum Theater production of "Heathers."
